General and Specific Objectives
The general objective of JDF is to coordinate community efforts to improve livelihoods of the people in Zanzibar.
Specific objectives of JDF includes but not limited to:
- To plan, coordinate and mobilise resources for the provision of sustainable and supportive services to local (marginalized) communities such as women, children, youths and elderly ’
- To advocate and ensure the protection and respect of socio-economic right of marginalized communities and other livelihood opportunities in the society
- To enhance and support communities’ socio-economic capacity building programs so as to boost community –led initiative and self-reliance for improved livelihood.
- To conduct comprehensive community livelihood assessments based on socio-economic profiling and define strategic approaches that reflect community needs.
- To seek and promote strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders/organizations to jointly identify livelihood support opportunities and develop plans that respond to community challenges.
- To promote effective community involvement in all aspects of program planning, implementation, monitoring and lesson learnt for openness and accountability.
- Develop cooperation and coordination with other NGOs which have similar objectives at all levels (local, national and international) to attain JDF vision and national vision 2030
