Welcome Jongowe Development Foundation (JDF)
The Jongowe Development Foundation (JDF) is a non-profit making organization that specializes on the areas of socio-economic and environmental development of the local communities in Zanzibar. It was formally established on 3rd October, 2005 under the Society Act No.6 of 1995, Cap 168, and was given Registration Number 290.
JDF strives to accelerate and promote community livelihoods through harnessing local resources for development (community philanthropy), environmental conservation, strengthening community capacity for social change, linkages, networking and partnerships in marginalized communities, Zanzibar.

MAIN AREAS OF INTERVENTION
Economic Empowerment
Capacity building for community members, both individually and corporate; in areas of management and operations.
Community Engagement
Civic education training to young people for spreading the message of peace and increase their participation in national development.
Education
Provision of expert advice and training to community members and civil societies on management of community projects, entrepreneurship, business and financial records.
Health
Working on health challenges facing young people by increasing availability and accessibility of health quality services to all.
Environmental Conservation
Natural Resources management (coastal, marine and non marine resources co-management practices)
Marine Resources Management
Raise community awareness to coastal and marine resources and develop skills and capacity to manage the said resources communally.
